Join Zahura in this series to explore two main themes: embracing dichotomies and welcoming all bodies.
It is equally important to feel the pain as well as the joy, peace, and light that this world offers us. We will find ways to hold both, creating a steadiness so powerful, it can change the world.
Practicing yoga in a space that holds, welcomes, celebrates bodies that are not seen as “yoga bodies” in general society is so important. The layers and complexities of identities and experiences that enrich what it means to be human and to practice yoga will be explored and welcomed.
Embody peace, find stillness alongside fellow BIPOC yogis, flow, breathe and meditate.
Practice style:
An energizing slow-flow vinyasa suitable for all levels—moving with intention and built-in pauses for stillness.
Pranayama (breathwork) and meditation.
We’ll draw from the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, Octavia Butler, and yogic philosophy to nurture peace from the inside out, honoring how individual healing supports collective wellbeing.
This class is for folks who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC), including those who identify as multi-racial.
